Burnley is a large town in Lancashire , England , it lies 19 miles east of Preston at the confluence of the River Calder and Brun, and it was once the worlds leading producer of cotton cloth. Burnley is served by Junctions 9, 10 and 11 of the M65 motorway, which runs west to Accrington, Blackburn and Preston , and northeast to Nelson and Colne. The town's main shopping street is St James Street, onto which Charter Walk shopping centre opens and the town centre is home to a good number of major high street multiples, including Marks and Spencer, Next and W H Smith, and a healthy mix of other shops, including specialist food shops.
