Know About Bury
Bury is historically a part of Lancashire emerged during the Industrial Revolution as a mill town centered on textile manufacture now a town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the River Irwell, north-northwest of the city of Manchester , west-southwest of Rochdale and east of Bolton and is surrounded by several smaller settlements which together form the Metropolitan Borough of Bury. The name Bury comes from an Old English word which means stronghold" or "fort".

The Bury's 'World Famous' Market is on the same site for nearly 600 years and is voted as the best 'British Market of the Year' by the National Association of British Market Authorities. The Famous Peel Tower that was built in remembrance of Sir Robert Peel, Prime Minister of the UK and founder of the police force, every year on Good Friday many people climb to the tower and this historical gathering had a principally religious purpose it is similar to the hill that Jesus is said to have climbed before he was crucified on Good Friday. The Bury Parish Church Bury Parish Church in the centre of the town and Silver Street contain many examples of mid-Victorian architecture.
